Jack Hyman, Ph.D.
Chief Executive Officer & Founder

Jack Hyman is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of HyerTek and is frequently sought out for the most complex, high-risk technology initiatives—where deep technical insight, executive judgment, and mission accountability must coexist. With more than 20 years of experience, he has led large-scale transformation efforts for federal agencies and Fortune 500 organizations operating in highly regulated environments.

Over the course of his career, Jack has led or advised 100+ enterprise and government transformation initiatives, supporting a significant portion of the Fortune 100, major financial institutions, healthcare payers, insurers, and civilian and defense agencies. His work consistently centers on modernizing legacy systems, integrating complex enterprise platforms, and resolving technically challenging, mission-critical problems while delivering measurable operational and cost efficiencies.

Prior to founding HyerTek, Jack held senior leadership and technical roles at IBM, Oracle, and SRA International (now General Dynamics). In these roles, he led multidisciplinary teams across mission-critical programs spanning financial services, healthcare, defense, intelligence, and public sector operations—often serving as the technical and strategic authority on initiatives where failure was not an option.

In addition to his executive leadership, Jack is a best-selling author and educator with a global professional audience. He has authored multiple best-selling technology books published by Wiley, including Power BI For Dummies (1st and 2nd Editions), Power Platform For Dummies, Data Analytics & Visualization For Dummies, Azure For Dummies (2nd Edition), and Tableau For Dummies. His books are widely used by professionals, educators, and organizations to translate complex data, analytics, and enterprise technology concepts into practical, real-world understanding.

Jack has spent nearly two decades in higher education, teaching more than 5,000 students at the undergraduate through doctoral level. His teaching spans enterprise systems, data analytics, blockchain development, information security, cloud computing, human-computer interaction, and educational technology, reflecting a rare blend of theoretical depth and applied expertise.

He holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems from Nova Southeastern University, a Master of Arts in Education & Human Development from The George Washington University, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from The American University. Jack resides in Maryland with his wife, Debbie, and their children, Jeremy and Emily.

Mikenzie Howard
Client Delivery & Growth

Mikenzie Howard leads Client Delivery & Growth at HyerTek, bringing more than a decade of experience spanning intelligence analysis, strategic communications, and program management across federal agencies in high-stakes, mission-driven environments. She is trusted to build and scale delivery operations that drive consistent, high-impact outcomes for HyerTek's federal clients.

In her role, Mikenzie oversees client engagements from mobilization through execution, ensuring delivery teams are aligned, accountable, and positioned to exceed expectations. She manages cross-functional coordination, cultivates partner relationships, and maintains the operational tempo required to deliver measurable results across complex federal programs.

Mikenzie's career is defined by her ability to bridge strategic vision and operational execution. Before joining HyerTek, she spent more than a decade serving the Department of Homeland Security across multiple capacities — from leading the terrorism intelligence portfolio for the State of California and helping architect the nation's first statewide Countering Violent Extremism initiative, to overseeing nationally recognized public awareness campaigns as Senior Director at DCG Communications.

At HyerTek, Mikenzie applies this mission-first perspective to client delivery and strategic growth, leveraging her federal and industry partnerships to ensure every engagement reflects the rigor and reliability HyerTek's clients expect.

She holds dual Master's degrees from Boston University in International Relations and International Public Relations.

Jill Alarcon, SPHRM
Human Resources & Talent

Jill Alarcon is a seasoned HR executive and serves as HyerTek's Chief Human Resources Officer, bringing more than 15 years of experience leading people strategy, organizational growth, and change management for high-growth organizations and government contractors. She is widely trusted by executive teams to guide companies through periods of scale, transformation, and cultural evolution—where people, performance, and compliance must move in lockstep.

Throughout her career, Jill has partnered closely with CEOs and senior leaders to design and implement strategic, people-first HR systems that support business objectives while strengthening employee experience. Her work spans talent acquisition, performance management, compensation strategy, compliance, leadership development, and organizational design, with a consistent focus on building scalable, sustainable foundations.

Prior to supporting HyerTek, Jill served in senior HR leadership roles across multiple organizations, most notably as Chief People Officer at DCG Communications. During her tenure, she helped grow the firm from 55 to 130 employees across more than 30 states and international locations, while actively shaping culture and supporting the company’s growth to approximately $26.4 million in annual revenue. She has led HR functions within fast-paced, regulated environments including government contracting, healthcare, biotech and life sciences, and communications.

Jill is known for her practical, values-driven leadership style, deep expertise in change management and compliance, and her ability to embed seamlessly within leadership teams to drive real, measurable outcomes. She is frequently engaged when organizations are scaling rapidly, navigating organizational change, or building HR infrastructure for the first time. Her leadership and impact have been formally recognized, including being named a Ragan’s 2020 Top Women in HR Award honoree, earning distinction in the Culture Czar category.

Jill holds an MBA in Human Capital Management & Strategy and Organizational Development from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in Finance from the University of Delaware. She is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).

Brenda Lopez
Operations

Brenda Lopez serves as Operations Manager at HyerTek, where she plays a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of programs, internal operations, and delivery coordination across the organization. She is trusted for her ability to bring structure, financial discipline, and operational clarity to fast-moving, client-facing environments.

In her role, Brenda supports day-to-day operational management, project coordination, financial tracking, and delivery support, helping ensure engagements are executed efficiently and in alignment with organizational and client expectations. She works closely with service delivery, leadership, and project teams to maintain operational consistency, manage priorities, and support timely, high-quality outcomes.

Prior to joining HyerTek, Brenda built a strong foundation in project operations and coordination through roles at DAI, where she supported complex programs as both a Project Associate and Senior Project Associate. Her experience includes budget tracking, financial forecasting support, audit readiness, reporting, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams—often in highly structured and compliance-driven environments.

Brenda brings a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to operations, with particular strengths in financial oversight, project coordination, and process support. She is known for her reliability, strong organizational skills, and ability to keep initiatives moving forward while managing competing priorities.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Affairs from American University and an Associate of Arts in International/Global Studies from Montgomery College. Brenda is fully fluent in Spanish, bringing additional value in collaborative and cross-cultural environments.
