Jack Hyman is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of HyerTek and is frequently sought out for the most complex, high-risk technology initiatives—where deep technical insight, executive judgment, and mission accountability must coexist. With more than 20 years of experience, he has led large-scale transformation efforts for federal agencies and Fortune 500 organizations operating in highly regulated environments.
Over the course of his career, Jack has led or advised 100+ enterprise and government transformation initiatives, supporting a significant portion of the Fortune 100, major financial institutions, healthcare payers, insurers, and civilian and defense agencies. His work consistently centers on modernizing legacy systems, integrating complex enterprise platforms, and resolving technically challenging, mission-critical problems while delivering measurable operational and cost efficiencies.
Prior to founding HyerTek, Jack held senior leadership and technical roles at IBM, Oracle, and SRA International (now General Dynamics). In these roles, he led multidisciplinary teams across mission-critical programs spanning financial services, healthcare, defense, intelligence, and public sector operations—often serving as the technical and strategic authority on initiatives where failure was not an option.
In addition to his executive leadership, Jack is a best-selling author and educator with a global professional audience. He has authored multiple best-selling technology books published by Wiley, including Power BI For Dummies (1st and 2nd Editions), Power Platform For Dummies, Data Analytics & Visualization For Dummies, Azure For Dummies (2nd Edition), and Tableau For Dummies. His books are widely used by professionals, educators, and organizations to translate complex data, analytics, and enterprise technology concepts into practical, real-world understanding.
Jack has spent nearly two decades in higher education, teaching more than 5,000 students at the undergraduate through doctoral level. His teaching spans enterprise systems, data analytics, blockchain development, information security, cloud computing, human-computer interaction, and educational technology, reflecting a rare blend of theoretical depth and applied expertise.
He holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems from Nova Southeastern University, a Master of Arts in Education & Human Development from The George Washington University, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from The American University. Jack resides in Maryland with his wife, Debbie, and their children, Jeremy and Emily.
